Dumped by boyfriend Ray (Greg Kinnear), New York TV talk show assistant Jane Goodale (Ashley Judd) writes a magazine article comparing his behavior to a study on the mating habits of bulls. The result is a nationally syndicated column, but Jane's jaded attitude is tested when she falls for a womanizing co-worker (Hugh Jackman).
